Glacier Skating

January 25, 2015

Last weekend's itch to adventure took us across Kachemak Bay by boat, up the Saddle Trail by foot, and across Glacier Lake by skate, to marvel beneath the bluest blues of Grewingk Glacier. Winter has been covert this season, so we were excited to find it here. The ice was untouched, the trail snacks mostly salmon, the water calm; a day unbeatable in our book. Since Salmon Sisters began, we've been lucky to have our friend and photographer Scott Dickerson along on many of our adventures. Scott's humor and boundless enthusiasm make any normal outing an epic one. His photos are the ones that we trust to be somehow, if it's possible, as breathtaking as the Alaskan scenery he captures. Scott's work can be found on his website, his facebook page, @scottdickerson on Instagram and Twitter, featured on the Salmon Sisters shop, and on this blog post!
